ProTest LSD Multi-Reagent Test Kit is a multi-reagent analysis kit designed for the preliminary identification of LSD and other lysergamides and for assessing possible impurities. Using several different reagents builds a broader identification profile from the same sample than a single test can.

The multi-reagent design produces several colour reactions, and their combination gives an indication of the sample's composition. The reactions are compared with the included reference charts and a digital analysis tool.

The kit is particularly suited to blotters, gels and other small dosage forms, but it can also be used for other solid samples.

How the multi-reagent test works

Parallel colour reactions are carried out on the sample with different reagents. Each reagent produces its own colour response, and together the reactions form an identification profile.

The Ehrlich and Hofmann reagents are the primary reagents for identifying indole compounds such as LSD. The Marquis and Mecke reagents complement the analysis and help detect unexpected reactions or additives.

The results are compared with reference charts and a digital analysis tool, which makes the identification more reliable than a single test.

Suitability and extended use

The ProTest LSD Multi-Reagent Test Kit is optimised for the preliminary identification of the following compounds:

LSD and other lysergamides (e.g. 1P-LSD, AL-LAD, ETH-LAD, ALD-52)
Other indole compounds
Tryptamines (e.g. DMT-type compounds)

The multi-reagent design also helps rule out certain structurally different compounds, such as NBOMe and NBOH substances, which may be sold in place of LSD.

Please note that the kit is designed primarily for analysing indole compounds. For other substances, interpretation is based on the reactions as a whole rather than on a single colour response.
