ProTest MDMA Multi-Reagent Test Kit is a multi-reagent analysis kit designed for the preliminary identification of MDMA and substances that may have been added to it. Using several different reagents builds a broader identification profile from the same sample than a single one-off test.

The multi-reagent set-up produces different colour reactions which together give an indication of the sample's composition. The reactions are compared with the included reference charts and a digital analysis tool.

The kit is suitable for powders, crystals and tablets, and is designed for situations where, in addition to MDMA, possible cutting agents or additives need to be assessed.

How the multi-reagent test works

Parallel colour reactions are made from the sample with different reagents. Each reagent produces its own colour response, and together the reactions form an identification profile.

The results are compared with reference charts and a digital interpretation tool, which makes identification more reliable than a single rapid test.

Suitability and extended scope

ProTest MDMA Multi-Reagent Test Kit is optimised for the preliminary identification of MDMA and related compounds and for assessing possible cutting agents.

The kit can be used for preliminary identification in particular of:

MDMA and other MDxx compounds
MDA and other phenethylamine derivatives
Amphetamine and methamphetamine
Common stimulants and synthetic additives

The combination of several reagents allows primary and secondary amines to be distinguished and structurally similar compounds to be assessed more reliably.

Note that the kit is primarily designed for analysing compounds in the MDMA group and their common additives. For other substances, interpretation is based on the reactions as a whole rather than on a single colour response.
